The race is on to find this year’s Career Academy students. Twelve Year 12 students will embark on the Career Academies programme which will support them throughout their sixth form studies.
The school has teamed up with a wide variety of small, medium and large local businesses who have all committed themselves to supporting the lucky twelve.
Each Career Academy student will:
- Be given a mentor from a local business to meet with to support them with their studies and career plans
- Work for between 4 – 6 weeks during the summer holidays on ‘real life’ projects…and get paid!
- Attend a variety of guru lectures given by people in industry on a wide range of topics including personal finance, interview skills and day-to-day life in business
- Visit a range of factories in the area to learn how they work on a day-to-day basis
